Kathy was brought up at Hailsham, a somewhat exclusive boarding school in England. She recalls her childhood and her peculiar upbringing and the somewhat mysterious taboo subject that was always at the edge of everyone's minds. Now that Kathy is grown up, she starts to piece together the mysteries around who she and her classmates were destined for.
A mysterious dystopia. It takes a whlie to piece together the unspoken but it finally starts to come together mid-way through the book.
